A lovely kind of alternative Christmas music show: Jarvis Cocker’s Sunday Service presents the „return of Brian Eno“, he is in the show for the third time, this time with examples of mostly old time a capella music, from Gospel traditions to Finnish shouting rituals, from brilliant Italian amateurs to early doo wop masters. The show begins with some sentimental moods, the voices of Robin Gibb and the Beatles, a very British joke on snowmen, and ends with some good old stuff of Richie Havens (I like his songs, especially before Christmas:)) and the Velvet Underground. Jarvis Cocker is a good entertainer. You can only listen to these two hours within the next five days, so I appreciate to dive into these fascinating songs (only the very first piece is a bit boring in my ears) under the Christmas tree!!!(thanks to Alison Statton for this recommendation)
