Dear Richard Beirach,
Ludwigsburg is not that far away from Würzburg, where I went to university in the second half of the 70‘s. But the music from ECM seemed to come from a magic place in those golden years, so I never travelled to one of the real studios where history had been written. As a young guy I preferred things with a mythical aura. I followed the ECM story from the beginning, and got to know many of the artists since I had my radio shows from 1990 onwards. I really missed your solo album HUBRIS, and it was definitely one of the few records of that decade and that label that didn‘t find its way into my ears. But it‘s never too late. So after watching your „interview solo“, I immediately ordered it at Discogs. You are right, a fantastic cover. And have a look at my living room from Würzburg, in 1977. I found that photo by chance, last year. Yes, the records, and, yep, FORGOTTEN FANTASIES in best company of Miles Davis. I didn‘t miss ELM. Thank you for the music.
kindest regards, Michael
