Just called „fish of the day“. The spanish waiter told me the name, but, my Spanish is too limited to make any sense out of it. Sounded exotic… at least I have a photo for those who want to give it a try someday….

I don’t know. It’s definitely not Brian Eno though he loves lines that paint pictures about „leaving it all behind“. Mhm … it‘ not Leonard Cohen … it might be Bruce Sprungsteen at his most romantic moments, so tell me, I’m not googeling answers, my three time lover from the days of old! :) – hope it’s not Sting or Bono (voices that produce allergies in the sun) …
So, quite simple lyrics, no masterclass writing – has to have a great voice and a good melody to send me places …
Today is a very, very hot day, they even made announcements in the radio … La Garieta is a small beach at the end of Arrieta, very nice.
In my car on hot rotation with fucking USB stick, they don’t build in cd-players anymore … Jon Hassell: Dream Theory in Malaya / Joni Mitchell: Blue („the wind is in from Africa“ – in fact these lines are totally true these days) / Erik Honoré: Unrest (bis fantastic album, on Hubro, is out today / Van Morrison: Moondance (my Canarian quartet of excellence)
P.S. In the little house by the sea I do have one CD only for the player that is a great listen at the end of the day: Laraaji’s new double album „Bring On The Sun“, which is not the most original title here at Famara :) – it’s the kind of meditative music (to avoid the term „new age“) even agnostics (me!) and atheists may find pleasure with …

Die Hauptfigur dieses auf einer wahren Geschichte beruhenden Films (Into The Wild) hat nun mit mir herzlich wenig zu tun. Zu rigoros, zu einsiedlerisch, und kein Humor.
Würd mich ja jetzt auch nicht für ne halbe Stunde bei 40 Grad freiwillig in das „Das Tal der 1000 Palmen“ begeben, nicht mal in den behüteten Kakteengarten:) – aber morgens die leeren, fast leeren Strände anfahren, wo eine schöne Ruhe ist, das mag ich, und bei mir läuft auch nicht Eddie Vedders Song (die alte Rampensau:)), sondern Van Morrisons Moondance.

Die Hauptfigur hat nichts mit Dir zu tun, das ist eher etwas für Jugendtherapeuten, denen ich sie auch demnächst vorführen werde. Aber dieses Surfen im Yukon mit Eddie fiel mir bei Deinen Bildern ein, und “ the world begins where the road ends“ hat einfach was, da fiel mir gleich die Herz – Sutra ein.
