Guitarist J a k o b B r o organized a very special (Northern) tour along places in Norway, Iceland, Faroe Island, Greenland and Denmark with LEE KONITZ, BILL FRISELL and THOMAS MORGAN. You can read about it on All About Jazz here
A special documentary film by Jørgen Leth about the tour and the musicians is in preparation to be released next year. Leth is one of the most illustrious figures of cultural life in Denmark.
Manchmal passiert es und man ist dabei.
Über Steely Dan spät zum Jazz gekommen, gesichtet, Klassiker gehört und Aktuelles erforscht. Lee Konitz in Münster gesehen, recherchiert und auf Jakob Bro gestoßen. ‚Nat‘ über youtube gehört und gefangen gewesen.
Lange war keine Begeisterung in der Musik für mich möglich. Doch Bro und seine Trilogie machten mich wieder zum Fan, im besten Sinne.
Er hat mich mitgenommen und ich bin weitergegangen. Da liegt ja noch so viel, was es zu entdecken gilt. Muss auch nicht unbedingt Jazz heissen oder Musik sein … es muss nur begeistern! Ich muss es nicht bewerten, nur erfahren.

Die Frage stellt sich mir nicht … Nutella muss ich ja auch nicht begreifen und ich kann trotzdem drauf abfahren!
