Zunächst enttäuscht, dass „nur“ eine Kompilation größtenteils bekannter Titel vor-angekündigt wurde, entpuppt sich diese doch als lohnenswert. Und das liegt nicht nur an der bezaubernd unheimlichen Coverart der Künstlerin Kristamas Klousch. Die Zusammenstellung klingt in sich auch homogen. Immer wieder erstaunlich: die permanente Verbesserung der Soundqualität (Aufnahmetechnik/Remixing/Remastering) und das feine Gespür des Herrn Sylvian für Klänge und Ästhetik. Un cadavre exquisit? Non, mais plutôt: guter (alter) Wein in edleren Schläuchen. À votre santé !
Dissapointed first, for „only“ a compilation of mainly yet published songs was advertised, it though turned out to be worthy – and this is not only because of the charming, scary coverart of Ms. Kristamas Klousch. This compilation sounds homogeneous as a whole. Time and again astonishing: the permanent improvement of soundscape qualities, as there are recording techniques (remixing/remastering) and the sampling – and last but not least Mr. Sylvian´s fine sense for sound and aestethics at all. Un cadavre exquisit? Non, mais plutôt: good (old) wine in even more precious wineskins. À votre santé !
